Privacy Policy

The short version

You can use this site without an account. Voting is anonymous. We never store your raw IP address, we never sell personal data, and the only personal information we hold is an email address if you choose to give us one.

What we collect when you vote

Your vote choice, the poll it belongs to, a one-way salted hash of your IP address (used only to enforce one vote per person — it cannot be reversed into your IP), your country, and, for US visitors, your state. Country and state come from standard network headers and are stored only in aggregate form against the anonymous vote record.

Bot protection (Cloudflare Turnstile)

We use Cloudflare Turnstile in invisible mode to verify that votes come from humans and not automated scripts. Turnstile may process technical signals from your browser to make that determination. This processing is governed by Cloudflare’s Turnstile Privacy Addendum and Cloudflare’s privacy policy, available at cloudflare.com. We do not receive or store the underlying signals — only a pass/fail verification result.

What we collect if you subscribe

Your email address, used solely to send you poll results and related site updates. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing deletes you from active sending.

Cookies

We set one functional cookie after you vote, which remembers that you voted in a given poll so we can show you the tally instead of the ballot. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies today; if that changes when advertising launches, this policy and a consent notice will be updated first.

What we never do

We never sell user data. We never store raw IP addresses. We never link votes to identities — the system is designed so that we cannot, even if asked.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under GDPR and CCPA), you may have rights to access or delete personal data we hold about you. For subscribers that means your email address; for voters there is nothing identifiable to return. Contact us and we will act on any request promptly.
